2011 Knocdown/SCM Radio Indie R&B Artist of the Year Singer/Songwriter Duane Scott hales from the town of Clarksdale, MS. This is a city that has had such great star's as Ike Turner, the late greats Sam Cooke, and hip-hop star Nate Dogg, Mega-Star Rick Ross, and Super-Producer Elvis "BlacElvis" Williams pass through its streets. Duane Scott is well on his way to continuing the string of great stars to come from this little town located in the Mississippi Delta. Duane Scott began singing in church at the age of four but today he's using his gift in the R&B world. He has been greatly influenced by artist such as R. Kelly and Musiq Soulchild to name a few.
Once a member of the upstart group "Neutral", where he was not allowed to show his true vocals skills, Duane Scott eventually left to pursue his dream on his own. He released his debut Studio CD entitled "New Luv" in the spring of 2004 and received great reviews. The CD consisted of a number of ballards just for the ladies from a male’s point of view, as well as a few up-tempo songs for the fella's. Duane has performed on television shows in the New Orleans area as well as performed on a regular bases in Jackson, MS, Omaha, NE, and other cities. In 2006 he was voted one of Mississippi's Best Kept Secrets.
In 2010 Duane was voted in the top 50 in K97.1 Memphis Next Big Thing Contest. He was also nominated for tht 2010 Knocdown/SCM Indie R&B Artist of the Year as well as 2011 S.E.A (Southern Entertainment Awards) Indie R&B Artist of the Year. Duane Scott has just released his sophomore studio CD "Sycamore & Riley". This CD brought about the phenominal work relationship between Duane and Super-Producer Johnathan "J Dav" Davenport. The first two single's from the CD "Luv U My Way" and "Hello" have really caught the attention of alot of people in the industry and with the release of the third single " Rap Muzic", Duane Scott is really about to place his stamp on the R&B game.
